Former Arsenal striker Nicolas Anelka could be set for another spell in the Premier League, this time with relegation-strugglers QPR.
New Rangers boss Harry Redknapp, who will be spending as always in the upcoming transfer window, is a fan of the player, who also played in England with Liverpool, Manchester City, Bolton and Chelsea.
The Frenchman left Stamford Bridge last season for a move to China with Shanghai Shenhua, but Redknapp has hinted he will be hoping he will be available in January.
Speaking to ESPN, presumably through his car window, he said:
“He is a good player, a quality player. If he’s available he will be of interest to people. As far as I know he’s gone to China – I don’t know what the situation is with that.”
Although this doesn’t strictly concern Arsenal, it’s nice to see how former players are doing, even if they are mercernaries like Anelka, signing for what feels like his millionth club in a career that never really took off after leaving Highbury.
